The 390th Strategic Missile Wing at Davis Monthan was activated in 1961 and closed in 1984. From 1962 to 1971, the 12th Strategic Aersopace Division was host unit, and was the 12th Strategic Missile Division, 1971-1973 and the 12th Air Division, 1973-1976, so support units used the 803 designation. The 355th Fighter Wing was host unit from 1976 to 1981, when the 836th Air Division was activated, when support units used the 836 designation.
