The Matador and the follow-on Mace were ground launched cruise missiles deployed in Germany, Korea, Okinawa and Taiwan between 1954 and 1969. Training was conducted at Lowry and Orlando. Some units, including the 11 PBS/TMS, 17TMS and 24TMS were activated at Orlando but operational at the bases where they were assigned.
