The Jupiter IRBM was deployed briefly in Italy (36Aerobrigata IS) and Turkey. The Thor IRBM was deployed in the United Kingdom. USAF personnel were assigned with their NATO counterparts in the three countries, and were assigned to the 305 MMS in Italy and the 99 MMS in the UK. The Thor was also used as an aerospace defense system.
