Minuteman was deployed beginning in 1962 initially as
Minuteman I, LGM-30A/B
|

The Minuteman II, with
the Sylvania ground electronics system and sometimes
called Deuce, |
|
|
and Minuteman Modernized Boeing ground system, both with Minuteman
II or LGM-30F
|
|
|
missiles, and the Minuteman III, with LGM-30G missiles. |
|
|
Major modifications included ILCS,
(Improved Launch Control System) for MM |
|
|
Mod, the CDB, (Command Data Buffer) and REACT
(Rapid Execution and Combat Targeting). |
|
|
|
|
|
At one time, 1,000 missiles were deployed in six
wings. Today, there are three Minuteman |
|
|
wings with
a total of 500 Minuteman III missiles. |
